STREET ART

1.) Well some qualities I noticed in the documentary that I could use for my art peice would be the idea of a plain symbol that has a meaning behind it. It doesn't have to be colorful. Also some another quality would be using items and crafts and things in your home to come up with one main peice of art that has to do with my consumption project junk mail. And try and make a symbol out of the variety of junk mail scraps.

2.) What amazed me about the artists work was that each andeveryone of them either came up with a picture, symbol, or design that meant something to them or they though was a smart idea. The work the artists did was something they were confident in and knew would amaze people who spotted their works.

3.) They used their work to convey a message just by symbols and words and things like that. And sometimes their work was so good that people knew the message right away without much thought about it. Like for example if they comment on an aspect of society, or when they convey a specific emotion or mood then people get the point that their trying to get across to them.

Harrison Bergeron Political Cartoon

My political cartoon is showing the musical band playing after Harrison Bergeron escaped from prison to go against the goverment. In this cartoon Harrison is giving the musical band permission to remove their handicaps as for himself. He wants to celebrate his freedom by having a dance with an empress while the band play a nice song. There is now no more equality and everyone has freedom and big smiles on their faces for the time being. It was all Harrison Bergeron's idea for freedom and more equality.

"The Metamorphosis" Chapter 3

I personally think Kafka was trying to prove a point. That some insects if not all get treated just like most human beings if not worst. And I think he's also trying to say that you could really find out the true colors of who your family is by the way they treat you if you are something besides a human being. By Gregor being an insect it really shows you how great life would be if all your real life troubles and problems happened to disappear but also how it happens to get boring and you began to die slowly.

I think that Kafka chose the beetle because again I think he was trying to make a point. I believe that he was trying to tell a story to his readers that beetles are weak and very picky when it comes to their life. And also because the insect can relate to in a way how he was feeling about his life as a human being. He was an emotional wreck and so was the beetle in way that he was dying inside due to the emotional part of his life and his family not being appreciative.

"The Metamorphosis" Chapter 2

In the Metamorphosis the Samsa family both benefit and harm eachother. As things become clear to the Samsa's that Gregor is actually an insect they become more understanding but in a different type of way. Gregor's sister was sensitive in a way that she would do anythin for her brother and she understood most of what her brother Gregor was going through. She knew not to bother looking at him so it wouldn't disturb her in anyway or give her second thoughts about coming into his room. In this way Gregor got his food every day, once in the morning, when his parents and the servant girl were still asleep, and a second time after the common noon meal, for his parents were, as before, asleep then for a little while. She always cattered to his needs. She later had grown somewhat accustomed to everything.

Things suddenly began to change when Gregor was actually moving around and getting used to his new self and his room. His sister noticed immediately the new amusement which Gregor had found for himself--for as he crept around he left behind here and there traces of his sticky stuff and so she got the idea of making Gregor's creeping around as easy as possible and thus of removing the furniture which got in the way, especially the chest of drawers and the writing desk. She eventually knew his walkways in his room and what he had been doing and she thought by taking furniture out that it would help him get around easier but he liked his things the way they were. And by involving Gregor's mother made it even worst because by her trying to help move things cause a big scene because Gregor liked evreything about his room and the furniture meant a lot to him being that it's been there since he was a child.

In the Novella the exception of one event, the plot is almost humdrum in its realistic description of family tensions and economic worries. The neutral tone of the story also reinforces the feeling that the Samsas are a normal family. Theres too much to say about my family life....

"The Metamorphosis" Chapter 1

What circumstances in Gregor's life might have caused him to feel dehumanized even before the metamorphosis took place?

Before the metamorphosis took place Gregor's life was tiring. He didn't like his job and he was always traveling being that he was a salesman. Gregor always has to cope with the problems of traveling, the worries about train connections, irregular bad food, and the issues with human relationships. This in a way can relate to the metamorphosis because being that he is an insect, insects are always traveling non stop and they come across bad food and different relationships with those of heir own species. Things were stressful for Gregor as a salesmen and people weren't always the nicest to him when he was trying to sell a certain product and its that way with insects, people dont like them or cant stand them.

Gregor has personal issues with him and his family. Gregor's father was not always the most loving person and at times seemed very strict. When he was yelling at Gregor to open the door that then showed how he was so different from the sister and the mother. Being that he was an insect, human beings dont always treat insects fairly or with the respect that they diserve. And Gregor is helping his father pay off the dept they owe so he should be getting some kindness in return from his family. And now that he is going through metamoposis things might get even worst.
